Dr. Georgia Carins

MBBS (USyd), DCH, FRACGP

Dr. Georgia graduated from the University of Sydney in 2010. She worked in Wollongong and Darwin before returning to Sydney to undertake GP training, completing her FRACGP in 2017. She also completed a Diploma in Child Health through the Westmead Children’s Hospital in 2015.

Prior to medicine, Georgia was a physiotherapist who worked in the area of orthopaedic and neurological rehabilitation. On making the switch to medicine, it was the long-term nature of these therapist-patient relationships that had her aspire to General Practice. Georgia enjoys the continuity of care that general practice offers and finds it rewarding to develop positive working relationships that enable effective patient-centered care.

Georgia enjoys the depth and breadth of family medicine and that no two days are the same. Her particular interests include paediatrics, women’s health, mental health, preventive health and chronic disease management.

Dr. Carins is an independent practitioner consulting at the Leichhardt General Practice.
